报告1:Manipulating light at nanoscale
报告人:权奇敏 博士,美国哈佛大学罗兰研究所
报告摘要:Manipulation of light at the nanoscale has enabled numerous technological advances in biomedical sensing, optical communications, quantum optics, as well as fundamental studies of strong light and matter interactions. In this talk, I will focus on how biomedical sensing benefits from the high-Q and small footprint photonic crystal and surface plasmon resonators. I will also briefly cover several other applications enabled by photonic crystal cavities, including reconfigurable optomechanical filters, on-chip spectrometers and integrated quantum networks based on the diamond NV centers.
报告人简介:Qimin Quan is the Principle Investigator at the Rowland Institute at Harvard University. Qimin's research interests include the study of strong light-matter interaction at nanoscale, and the design and fabrication of functional nano-devices. The Quan lab is also pursuing interdisciplinary applications of nanophotonics and new materials to biomedical science. Qimin Quan received PhD (2012) at Harvard University, and BS (2007) at Peking University.
报告2:Recent Advances in Fluorescence Microscopy
报告人:张若冰 博士,美国哈佛大学脑科学研究所
报告摘要:The last decade has witnessed a rapid development of fluorescence microscopy, to break spatial and temporal resolutions in imaging molecules, cells and tissues. These progresses include innovative optical concepts and methods (TIRF, stochastic localization, etc), improved hardware and software (high NA objective, laser, EMCCD, CMOS, etc), novel fluorescence probes, and new applications. In the talk I will discuss some recent technological advances in single molecule imaging, super-resolution microscopy and 2-photon laser scanning microscopy. I will also briefly introduce the latest trends in applying fluorescence microscopy on biological and biomedical researches.
报告人简介:Ruobing Zhang's research focused on technical development in 2-photon scanning microscopy, super-resolution microscopy and 3D super-accuracy single molecule imaging and positioning. He also applied super-resolution imaging in biomedical studies, such as probing the non-genetic heterogeneity in breast cancer development. Dr. Zhang currently works as a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Brain Science, Harvard University. He received his PhD from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2010), and his BS from Peking University (2004).
