  报告摘要:

In this talk, I will briefly introduce the current research projects in my lab at Northwestern University. The current technology development projects include photoacoustic microscopy, optical coherence tomography, and super-resolution optical imaging technologies. We also focus on the following biomedical applications: early diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration, understanding the earliest mutation in pre-center cells, recording cortical neuronal activities, and examining mucus dynamics for HIV prevention.

  报告人简历:

Dr. Hao F. Zhang is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University in 2006. From 2006 to 2007, he was a post-doctoral fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. In 2006, he and colleagues published the first demonstration of photoacoustic microscopy in Nature Biotechnology, which is now the most cited paper in the field (over 1000 citations). As an independent investigator, he received the Shaw Scientist Award by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation in 2009, the Director’s Challenging Award by the National Institutes of Health in 2010, the CAREER Award by the National Science Foundation in 2011, and the Frontiers of Engineering Young Investigator Award by the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2013. He is an editorial board member of Current Eye Research and Scientific Reports, and is a frequent member of various grant reviewing panels for National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. His research interests include optical coherence tomography, photoacoustic microscopy, super-resolution imaging, ophthalmology, and early cancer mutation.
